C H L O E C H E N Tailored Harem Pants

When it comes to relaxed fit harem-esque pants, I instantly gravitate towards them, and will most likely purchase them.
Last winter, my aunt came from the motherland to visit, and she brought some clothing items that she thought I would like- all from an independent Taiwanese designer: Chloe Chen. A pair of tailored harem pants, a midi skirt, and an A-skirt. All of the pieces gorgeous, fitted, and chic. Because I have been so busy with school, I have not gotten a chance to style and wear the clothing until now.
Today was beautiful and sunny, at a comfortable high of 80°. I was going out on a luncheon with B and the library after. Knowing that, I pulled out the Chloe Chen tailored harem pants and took a leap at styling it. I've had a few difficulties with this piece because it's not the casual harem pants you expect it to be. Instead CC's tailored harem pants are rolled at the cuff once, adorned with two gold zipper-less slide, fitted nicely, made with double fabric, and adorned with a flat draw string at the top. I tried styling a casual white t-shirt or tank top before (as they normally compliment harem pants nicely) but because CC's harem pants are more formal, the style clashed and was not aesthetically pleasing at all. Today I hit the jackpot with this loose-fit box chiffon top. Loose fit but with an extra inch on the bottom of the shirt allowed me to tuck the shirt into the front of the pants, to 'clean up' the "messiness" of how loose the shirt is. Plus the golden buttons suit the tailored look of the pants.

Here's a close up on the gold zipper track detail. I think this small detail makes a huge difference in the presentation.

I do recommend anyone to check out Chloe Chen's website as she does sell internationally, you might even recognize some American brands such as my favorite- Wildfox ;) Her style is very London meets Asia.  I definitely do wish that she had a boutique in California so that items from her store are more easily accessible, but I guess her webpage will do for now. (There is an option to view the site in english at the top right corner of the webpage.)
I had a peaceful day today, and I hope everyone had a nice Valentine's day on Friday, (anyone do anything interesting, romantic, or fun?)
